Polyaluminum ferric chloride (PACF) is a new type of composite amorphous and inorganic polymer water purifier with aluminum as the main component and iron as the auxiliary component (iron content is about 2-3%). It not only has the advantages of wide water treatment surface of aluminum salt flocculant, good turbidity removal effect, low corrosion to equipment pipelines, etc., but also has the characteristics of fast settlement of iron salt flocculant, easy separation, good low-temperature water treatment performance and large water treatment pH range. At the same time, it overcomes the shortcomings of high residual aluminum concentration in the water after aluminum salt flocculant treatment and poor stability of iron salt flocculant, and shows high efficiency in the coagulation and sedimentation treatment of water. It has simple manufacturing process and raw materials. The advantages of wide source, low production cost, simplified water treatment process, etc., are widely used in the water treatment industry.
Preparation method
AR-grade reagents are used to prepare FeCl3 · 6H2O and AlCl3 · 6H2O stock solutions with concentrations of 1mol/L respectively, and according to different ratios (n[Al]n[Fe]= 9: 1;7: 3;5: 5;3: 7 ;1: 9, which means that the system only prepares individual solutions) absorbs aluminum and iron stock solutions, stir at medium speed (200r /min) at room temperature for 15min. According to the alkalization degree to be prepared (B = 0 3;0.6;1.2;1.8;2.4), slowly add different amounts of sodium hydroxide solution (1mol/L) under strong stirring (300 r/min), and the titration speed is controlled at 1 mL/min to avoid local precipitation. After the reaction, continue to stir for 120min. After each solution is fixed, [Al + Fe] is 0.05mol/L, and the alkalization degree is calculated according to the formula B =[OH] [Al + Fe](molar ratio). At room temperature, it will be cured for 1d and placed in the refrigerator (4 ℃).
Features
polyaluminium ferric chloride is used less under the same water conditions. The average drug consumption quantum of polyaluminum ferric chloride is equivalent to about 50% of polyaluminum chloride. The flocculation formed by polyaluminium ferric chloride is large, dense, has fast precipitation, and has a good removal effect on turbidity. At the same time, polyaluminium ferric chloride has little effect on PH.

Use
polyaluminium ferric chloride has strong decolorization ability. The turbidity removal rate is strong. And it's not too corrosive. For the water treatment problems of serious changes in water quality with low turbidity and high turbidity and difficult decolorization, the purification requirements that cannot be solved by polyferric sulfate can be achieved. In addition to good water purification effect and low dosage, polyaluminium ferric chloride also has the advantages of not easy moisture absorption, convenient packaging, storage and transportation. At the same time, the product is non-corrosive and there is no need for additional equipment for anti-corrosion treatment. It is also more convenient for personnel to use.
